Megan and Alex met the modern way: on Hinge. Alex sent the first message, and one of their very first conversations somehow turned into joking about stealing the Washington Monument together. Naturally, that became the foundation of their love story.

Their first date was on February 2, 2024, and from the beginning, everything felt easy. Megan noticed immediately that Alex was a gentleman — opening her car door on their first date and continuing to open every door for her ever since. Alex quickly realized Megan was much funnier than he expected, and the two fell into a rhythm that made it feel like they had known each other forever.

After about a month of talking, Megan finally asked Alex why he hadn’t officially asked her to be his girlfriend yet. Alex admitted he thought he was supposed to wait three months. Megan informed him that was ridiculous, so on February 25, 2024, they officially started dating.

From there, life moved quickly in the best way. They said “I love you” less than a month later, moved in together that summer, and built a life filled with concerts, AMC movie nights, traveling, spontaneous adventures, and endless inside jokes.

Together, they balance each other perfectly. Megan is very type A; Alex is very type B. She keeps life organized, and he reminds her to relax and be spontaneous. More than anything, they push each other to grow — always encouraging one another to become better versions of themselves.

On February 7, 2026, the coldest day of the year, Alex brought Megan to dinner in Washington, DC before walking toward the Washington Monument. Alex told her that while he couldn’t steal her the Washington Monument, he did have something else for her. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

Megan said “of course,” and after a kiss and a very quick celebration, they sprinted back to the car to escape the freezing weather.
