Privacy
Short, human, and honest. No legalese.
Megan and Alex (that’s us) built thehooglands.com to organize our wedding. We take your privacy seriously — not because a lawyer told us to, but because you’re a friend.
What we collect
When you RSVP, we store:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address (if you give us one)
- Your RSVP response per event
- Dietary restrictions or allergies you share
- Song requests or other notes you submit
- Reception meal choice
- Whether you plan to stay on-site
If you’re part of the bridal party, we also store your role, an optional phone number, an optional photo, and your answers to our bridal-party questionnaire.
Why we collect it
Exclusively to plan our wedding — seating, catering, transportation, and communicating with you. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone outside of our service providers (below).
Where it lives
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Supabase — database, file storage, and magic-link authentication.
- Resend (once enabled) — RSVP confirmation emails and branded bridal-party sign-in links.
All of these are reputable providers with their own privacy policies. Data stays within these services; we do not integrate analytics, advertising, or tracking networks.
How long we keep it
Until we’ve packed up the last of the flowers. Reasonable expectation: all personal data is purged by the end of 2027. If you want it removed sooner, see below.
Cookies
We set cookies only for:
- Remembering that you’ve dismissed the Save the Date splash (session-only).
- Keeping you signed in to the bridal party section, if applicable.
- Keeping Megan or Alex signed in to the admin panel.
No analytics cookies. No advertising cookies. No third-party trackers.
Your rights
Want to see what we’ve got on you, correct something, or have everything deleted before the wedding? Reply to any invitation or text us directly. We’ll handle it within a few days.
